Nashville Shores – 1.6 miles
Nashville Shores is a waterpark, adventure course and campground located in Hermitage, along the shore of Percy Priest Lake. The water park portion of the site includes Breaker Bay Wave Pool, Castaway Creek Lazy River, Kowabunga Beach and Giant Bucket of Fun. The Treetop Adventure Park includes over 100 woodland obstacles, including zip lines, wall climbing and rope swings.
The Hermitage – 3.9 miles
Step into American history at Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage, home of the 7th U.S. President. The Hermitage is one of the oldest and largest historic site museums in the United States and has been open to the public since 1889. The mansion is a National Historic Landmark maintained to look just as it did then. Proof of this, 85 percent of the objects are original to Jackson’s lifetime. On the acres surrounding the mansion are the humble log homes where the enslaved community lived. In addition this is where the Jackson family first settled.
Lane Motor Museum – 8.9 miles
Lane Motor Museum in Nashville is one of the few museums in the U.S. to specialize in European cars. It is a working museum with the goal of maintaining all vehicles in running order. For example, some cars are in showroom condition, while others represent typical aging. In addition, efforts are made to restore each vehicle to near-original specifications. Cars of unusual design are featured, including propeller-driven vehicles, microcars and three-wheeled cars. Not only do they feature those cars, but also amphibious vehicles, alternative fuel vehicles, military vehicles, competition cars, one-off vehicles and prototypes.
Johnny Cash Museum – 11.2 miles
The Johnny Cash Museum in Nashville boasts the world’s largest collection of Johnny Cash artifacts and memorabilia. For example, it showcases films, handwritten notes and letters penned by Cash himself. In addition, there are more than 25 costumes made famous during the music legend’s career. Exhibits spotlight different periods in Cash’s life. Altogether, this museum covers his years in the Air Force, his marriage to June Carter and his famous prison concert tour.
Ryman Auditorium – 11.8 miles
The historic Ryman Auditorium is amazing! This legendary Nashville spot isn’t just another nightly music venue. Also, it is so much more than a daytime tourist stop. This place is hallowed ground. Without a doubt, this is the exact spot where bluegrass was born. It was right here that country music found an audience beyond its own back porch.
